James CATALANO, P.E.
structural engineer
Mr. Catalano began his engineering career as a bridge engineer with a large firm in Central Florida. He advanced in professional scope and responsibility, serving as the firm’s Chief Bridge Engineer, Chief Structural Engineer, and Regional Manager of the firm’s Tampa office.
In 1994, Mr. Catalano formed Catalano Engineering, Inc. Since that time, Mr. Catalano has been both designer and Engineer of Record for a variety of structural elements including interstate, state and county highway bridges, port facility marine structures, water and wastewater treatment plants, mid-rise office, and residential buildings, retaining walls, mast-arm and span wire signals, and boat launch facilities.
In his free time, Mr. Catalano enjoys cycling, hiking, and kayaking. He also served on the State Broad of Directors the Florida Trail Association, overseeing the Florida National Scenic Trail and is routinely call upon toe design and permit trail bridges for the US Forest Service including the Devil’s Creek Bridge and Spring Creek Bridges in Florida.
